Reducing metro rail costs and interest rates on loans taken from Japan will be among the key issues discussed during Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's four-day visit to Japan.
Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam disclosed this information at a press conference organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday afternoon, held ahead of the prime minister's upcoming diplomatic mission.
The foreign secretary stated that several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) could be signed during the visit, covering areas such as cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, human resource development, skills enhancement, civil aviation, marine environmental conservation, and the modernisation of local government.
When asked about the exact number of agreements expected to be finalized, Asad Alam Siam replied, "Estamos discussing around eight MoUs. We hope three to four of them will be signed."
More details are expected to follow as the visit progresses, with multiple bilateral announcements anticipated during the Prime Minister's stay in Japan.
