Gas supply will remain suspended for four consecutive hours in several designated areas of the capital tomorrow due to urgent pipeline maintenance and repair work. Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited announced this in an emergency notification, urging consumers in the affected areas to make prior arrangements to avoid inconvenience.
The authority stated that the main gas lines must be shut down temporarily to fix pipeline faults, perform routine maintenance, and complete necessary relocation work. This operational upkeep is crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the city's gas distribution network. Engineers and technicians will work on-site to complete the designated tasks within the stipulated timeframe.
Residential, commercial, and industrial consumers in the affected zones will experience a temporary disruption in their daily activities. Titas Gas assured that supply will resume immediately after the maintenance work is successfully concluded. However, it may take a little additional time for the gas pressure in the lines to normalize fully across all households.
The authorities have expressed sincere regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to the city dwellers. Residents of the affected neighborhoods have been advised to complete their essential cooking and other related tasks ahead of the scheduled downtime. Public cooperation has been sought to ensure safety and smooth execution of the maintenance work.
Such routine and emergency interventions are periodically carried out by the utility provider to maintain structural integrity and prevent major pipeline hazards. Specialized monitoring teams remain deployed on the ground to ensure that the distribution lines are brought back into full operation without any unnecessary delay.
