The Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil film 'Jailer 2' has officially crossed the coveted Rs 600 crore milestone in global earnings within just eight days of its release. Ever since hitting the silver screen on October 15, the film has continued to display an unstoppable run at the box office, raking in massive numbers from both domestic and international markets.
According to a report by the Indian media outlet 'The Week', the film's worldwide collection stood at a staggering Rs 576.45 crore by the end of its first week. This included Rs 371.45 crore from the domestic market and Rs 205 crore from overseas territories. With additional collections streaming in on the eighth day, the film comfortably crossed the Rs 600 crore threshold. By 5 PM on that day alone, the domestic net collection stood at Rs 8.44 crore, pushing the global cumulative gross past the targeted milestone.
'Jailer 2' opened to a massive start on its very first day, registering a net collection of approximately Rs 59.70 crore in the Indian market. While earnings dipped slightly to Rs 37.10 crore on the second day, collections saw a renewed surge over the weekend. By the fourth day, the film collected Rs 55.85 crore domestically.
The momentum continued into the weekdays, with the film grossing Rs 42.35 crore on Monday and Rs 46.80 crore on Tuesday. However, collections witnessed a notable drop on the seventh day, falling to Rs 28.15 crore—marking the first significant single-day decline during its opening week.
Geographically and linguistically, the Tamil version led the domestic earnings, while the Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions also contributed significantly to the overall box office collection. Meanwhile, a strong international presence played a crucial role in rapidly escalating the film's global revenue.
