Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has openly acknowledged the shortcomings and mistakes made by the party during the national parliamentary elections, emphasizing the necessity of learning from those past experiences. Speaking as the chief guest at the Rukon conference of Jamaat's Dhaka North unit, held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, he asserted that the party remains vigilant to ensure such errors are not repeated in the future.
Reflecting on the national election results, the Jamaat leader noted that although citizens cast their votes, the outcomes were snatched away. Addressing concerns raised by the public regarding the failure to safeguard their votes, he admitted that the party had organizational weaknesses at the time. However, he assured that a thorough internal review of these shortcomings has already been conducted to shape a stronger future strategy.
Shifting focus to the upcoming city corporation elections, Ameer Shafiqur Rahman urged leaders and activists to dedicate themselves entirely to the campaign. He stressed that by analyzing the mistakes of the previous national polls, the party is now better equipped to face local electoral battles. He called upon his supporters to work tirelessly, build strong alliances with the general public, and stand uncompromisingly against wrongdoists and miscreants.
Emphasizing a more robust political stance, Rahman declared that the party would no longer remain passive observers of political injustice. He warned that appropriate protests will be staged, and wherever the organization possesses the capacity, active resistance will be mounted against oppression. The conference concluded with a fervent call to all members to work collectively toward establishing honest, competent, and pious leadership at all levels of society.
