📌Key Highlights & Summary:
  • •Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar claimed that BNP has ruined the country within just eight months of governance.
  • •He accused the administration of nepotism and bribery in fertilizer dealer appointments during the Thakurgaon rally.
  • •Allegations were raised regarding massive corruption in development projects and rising local extortion.

Addressing a major election rally in Thakurgaon, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar launched a scathing attack on the government, alleging that the ruling party has completely ruined the nation's governance and economic situation within a span of just eight months. Speaking as the chief guest at the large public gathering held at the Thakurgaon Government Boys High School ground in connection with the upcoming Thakurgaon-1 by-election, Porwar criticized the administration's policy inconsistencies and rampant corruption.

Highlighting internal governance failures, the Jamaat leader pointed out that within a short period, multiple ministers and lawmakers have faced resignations or controversies, reflecting deep-seated administrative instability. He remarked that the administration's rhetoric shifts constantly between morning and evening, failing to deliver on law and order. While some lawmakers claim they will eradicate narcotics carrying firearms, illicit drug routes allegedly operate right past the residences of influential figures within the government structure, he claimed.

Turning to local grievances and regional development, Porwar alleged that massive corruption has been institutionalized, with multi-billion-taka development contracts being channeled exclusively to relatives of powerful ministers. He asserted that extortion networks in Thakurgaon, which previously existed, have now been taken over and expanded by activists affiliated with the ruling party and its associated youth and student wings. He warned voters that choosing candidates linked to these factions would only redirect public funds into the pockets of local extortionists rather than benefiting the general public.

The senior politician also raised serious concerns over agricultural mismanagement, particularly regarding fertilizer distribution. He alleged that massive bribery, ranging up to millions of local currency, was rampant in appointing fertilizer dealers, where family members and close associates were favored at the expense of genuine farmers. Criticizing frequent hikes in fuel prices and ongoing shortages in electricity and gas supplies, Porwar concluded that the current trajectory poses a severe threat to the national economy and public safety.
