A fresh spell of rain has been forecasted across seven divisions of Bangladesh, bringing potential relief from the ongoing warm spell. According to the met office, an extension of a trough of low pressure is currently positioned over West Bengal and adjoining areas, creating favourable conditions for precipitation in the region.
Meteorologists indicate that divisions including Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, and Sylhet are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in some places. The skies may remain partly cloudy to overcast during peak hours.
The anticipated rainfall is expected to cause a noticeable drop in daytime temperatures across the affected areas, although night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged. This shift in weather pattern may bring much-needed comfort to residents after days of humid conditions.
River ports have not been issued any strict cautionary signals yet, but inland water transports have been advised to exercise caution during sudden gusts. Fishermen and river commuters are encouraged to stay updated with the latest bulletins.
Agricultural experts note that while unexpected rain can sometimes pose challenges for harvesting seasonal crops, moderate rainfall is generally beneficial for soil moisture in various regions. Farmers have been advised to take necessary precautions to protect harvested crops.
Weather authorities will continue to monitor the atmospheric conditions closely and provide timely updates as the situation evolves over the coming days.
