Niaj Mehdi, Additional Deputy Commissioner of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division, told Chitra Post that the investigating officer of the cocktail explosion case, filed at the Ramna Police Station, tracked the suspect's location using information technology. Subsequently, with the assistance of the DMP's Detective Branch (DB), a joint operation was conducted in Rupganj to arrest Abul Hayad.

According to police sources, last Tuesday around 1:45 PM, miscreants detonated a cocktail on the road adjacent to Gate No. 2 of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital's Segunbagicha area and fled the scene. The sudden blast triggered panic among the general public in the area. A case was later filed under the Explosive Substances Act at the Ramna Model Police Station.
