A local business leader, identified as 35-year-old Amir Hossain, sustained bullet injuries after being attacked by miscreants in broad daylight in front of the Poura U Market near Panna Chattar, the heart of Rajbari town. The incident took place on Tuesday around 1:00 PM.

Following the shooting, the injured victim was initially rushed to Rajbari Sadar Hospital. He was later transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced medical treatment. Amir Hossain is the son of Abul Hossain from Vrichatra village under Banibaha union of Rajbari Sadar upazila and serves as the general secretary of the Banibaha Bazar Traders Association.

Recounting the incident while receiving initial treatment at Rajbari Sadar Hospital, Amir Hossain stated that he had come to the Rajbari court on Tuesday to appear in a legal case. After the court proceedings ended, around 1:00 PM, he was heading towards the local cloth market on a rickshaw accompanied by a companion named Hasmat Ali. As they crossed Panna Chattar and reached in front of the U Market, an easy-bike (battery-powered three-wheeler) coming from behind blocked their rickshaw. At that moment, assailants from the easy-bike fired three shots targeting him. One of the bullets grazed his abdomen and lodged in his right arm, while the other two missed their target.

However, Amir Hossain stated that he could not immediately identify the attackers or the motive behind the shooting. Hasmat Ali, who was accompanying him, corroborated the account, stating that as they were heading towards the market on a rickshaw, the occupants of an easy-bike coming from behind ordered them to stop and immediately opened fire.

Dr. Jannatul Ferdous, an emergency department physician at Rajbari Sadar Hospital, said that an X-ray revealed a bullet lodged in the flesh of Amir Hossain's right arm. He was subsequently referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for better management of his injuries.

Rajbari Superintendent of Police Mir Monir Hossain stated that police have taken the incident seriously and multiple teams have already been deployed to track down and apprehend those involved in the attack.
