  • •Jamalpur Bondhusabha donated sewing machines to two underprivileged families.
  • •The initiative aims to empower a physically challenged individual and a struggling mother to achieve financial independence.
  • •The focus is on long-term self-reliance rather than just temporary assistance.

In a commendable display of social responsibility, Jamalpur Bondhusabha has extended a helping hand to two underprivileged families by providing them with sewing machines. The initiative, aimed at fostering self-reliance, saw the machines being handed over to the beneficiaries on October 23. This effort is designed to empower these families to generate their own income and break the cycle of poverty.

One of the recipients is Tarikul Islam, a physically challenged individual originally from the Sapdhori area of Islampur, Jamalpur. Currently residing in Sherpur’s Nondir Bazar, Tarikul supports a family of seven, including four daughters and a son. Due to his physical condition, he is unable to walk or perform daily tasks independently, relying heavily on the unwavering support and dedication of his wife. For Tarikul’s family, the sewing machine represents a vital opportunity to stabilize their financial situation amidst significant hardships.

The second recipient is Helena Begum, the wife of Abdur Rashid from the Rashidpur area of Jamalpur Sadar. Helena has been struggling to manage a household of seven while striving to provide a quality education for her children. The sewing machine is expected to serve as a crucial tool for her to earn a steady income and alleviate the financial burden on her family.

Members of the organization emphasized that the core objective of this initiative is not merely to provide temporary relief, but to guide underprivileged individuals toward sustainable self-sufficiency. By equipping these families with the means to work, the organization hopes to foster long-term economic independence.

The organization has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such constructive activities, aiming to support marginalized groups and improve their quality of life. It is hoped that this small yet significant gesture will pave the way for meaningful and lasting improvements in the lives of these two families.
