A shocking murder has taken place in Comilla's Muradnagar upazila, where a man was brutally stabbed to death by his own nephew over a complicated dispute involving a romantic relationship with the same woman. The incident occurred on Saturday night in Korepar village under Bangra Bazar police station, claiming the life of 40-year-old scrap businessman Masud Mia. The alleged killer, identified as his 23-year-old nephew Milon Mia, alias Shipon Mia, has been swiftly arrested by the police, sparking widespread outrage and protests among local villagers who demanded exemplary punishment.

According to local authorities and police reports, the victim Masud Mia was a resident of Korepar village and earned his living through a local scrap business. The accused, Shipon Mia, is the son of Anis Mia from the neighboring Kurbanpur village. On Saturday night around 10:00 PM, Masud was sitting near a grocery shop close to his own establishment when Shipon called him aside. Taking him a little distance away, the nephew launched a sudden and violent knife attack, inflicting multiple stab wounds across his body.

Family members revealed that Masud's wife had left him about five years ago, leaving behind three children, since which time he lived and slept alone at his scrap shop. Approximately two years ago, Masud developed a phone-based romantic relationship with a widowed mother of two children from a village under Muradnagar's Srikail union. This personal relationship ultimately became the focal point of a bitter feud between the uncle and the nephew.

According to Delowara Begum, the sister-in-law of the victim, Shipon somehow discovered the affair and cleverly extracted the woman's mobile phone number from his uncle. Subsequently, Shipon also became romantically involved with the same woman, leading to escalating tensions and severe friction between the two relatives. What began as a clandestine dispute over affection tragically escalated into a deadly confrontation.

During the altercation on Saturday night, the sounds of scuffle drew the attention of nearby residents, but by the time people rushed to the scene, Shipon had already fled. Masud suffered massive blood loss and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Police arrived promptly to recover the body and initiated a manhunt, successfully apprehending the suspect shortly afterward.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire community, with angry residents staging demonstrations on Sunday morning demanding strict legal action and maximum punishment for the nephew. Law enforcement officials confirmed that formal legal proceedings are underway, and the accused will be produced before the court to face murder charges.
