The July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum has introduced a complimentary wheelchair service to ensure accessibility for physically challenged and special-needs visitors. The service was opened to the public on Tuesday morning, as announced by the museum authority through a press release.
According to the notification, visitors can access the wheelchair service directly at the museum entrance. If visitors are accompanied by family members or relatives, they can operate the wheelchairs to tour the entire museum. For visitors arriving alone, trained volunteers will be deployed round-the-clock to assist them and guide them through the exhibitions.
The press release also noted that special attention has been paid to the museum's infrastructure and exhibition halls to ensure they are completely barrier-free and accessible for wheelchair users.
Regarding this new initiative, Museum Director General Ehsan Mahmud said, "The July Museum is a place of memory and emotion for every citizen of this country. We introduced this special service to ensure that no physical limitation becomes a barrier for anyone to learn about history and visit the museum."
