In an effort to elevate the standard of higher education and modernise teaching methodologies, a three-day skill development training program for newly appointed faculty members has officially begun at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). The initiative is designed to refine the pedagogical skills of young educators and align institutional teaching standards with contemporary global benchmarks.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, the university's vice-chancellor welcomed the new faculty members and underscored the pivotal role educators play in shaping competitive graduates. He stressed moving beyond traditional rote learning to embrace student-centric teaching approaches, modern technological tools, and a robust research-oriented mindset. The university administration believes this foundational training will significantly contribute to the academic excellence of the institution.
The three-day workshop features a comprehensive curriculum tailored for junior faculty across various departments. Sessions cover essential academic domains, including advanced teaching-learning techniques, innovative question paper design, fair assessment methodologies, grant proposal writing, and effective classroom management. Prominent educationists and subject matter experts have been invited as resource persons to mentor the participants through interactive lectures and practical exercises.
Academic circles view continuous faculty development as a cornerstone for maintaining educational rigor. According to the organizing committee, blending theoretical frameworks with hands-on practice will substantially boost the confidence and administrative capability of the teachers. The program is expected to foster a more engaging and dynamic learning environment across all departments.
The training will conclude with a certificate awarding ceremony for the participating faculty members. University authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to organizing similar professional development workshops regularly to ensure sustainable academic growth and institutional advancement.
