Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque has questioned whether the individuals accompanying Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on his official visit to Japan are suitable to represent the state, alleging that the Prime Minister is traveling with people who do not even fall under any state protocol.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday afternoon following a meeting of top leaders from the 11-party alliance, Mamunul Haque remarked that important state visits appear to be transformed into sightseeing and recreational trips. He added that such arrangements, along with questions regarding the individuals assisting the Prime Minister in running the country, are raising public apprehension about the nation's trajectory.
Stating that no conspiracy or intrigue against the 11-party unity will succeed, the Khilafat Majlis leader emphasized that they have taken to the streets for constitutional reform and state repair, not to engage in farce. Therefore, they will not fall into any conspiratorial traps.
Mamunul Haque noted that the 11-party alliance is not merely confined to the opposition, but is part of a broader struggle to determine the outline of Bangladesh's future state and set the nation's course. They remain united with this objective in mind.
Seeking cooperation from law enforcement agencies and the administration to peacefully conduct the opposition's upcoming long march toward Khulna, Mamunul Haque warned that any obstruction or malicious activities from any quarter regarding the program would be resisted and the program successfully implemented.
Expressing concern over the upcoming local government elections, Mamunul Haque stated that they are unable to place their confidence in whether the polls will be held in a neutral manner.
